The Wales Environment Trust is a member of the ReMaDe Network UK. The Remade Network UK connects organisations and programmes working to find uses for waste as a resource and to minimise its impact on the environment by identifying alternatives to landfill.
Asphalt Planings and Crushed Asphalt
RAP is the description for recycled aggregate consisting of crushed or milled asphalt. This may include millings, planings, returned loads, joint off-cuts and plant waste.
RAP can be 100% recycled, into the manufacture of Asphalt, to get the highest value for these products.
RAP may also be used in the production of sub bases and general fills; however they command a much lower value.
A list of producers of RAP and companies that can reprocess the RAP into Asphalt is available on the Trust's Web Site; however, you will have to become registered user to access this information.
